AAIM Guidelines for Internal Medicine Structured Evaluative Letter (IM SEL)
Update (July 2022): In preparation for the 2022-23 application cycle, the IM SEL FAQs and IM SEL FAQs for IMGs have been reviewed. No revisions were made. Information found in both documents are valid for this application cycle. As a reminder, the contents of the IM SEL template and mock-up have been adjusted to clarify interpretation of the osteopathic subject examination (COMAT) scores. The improvement reflects the distinction between the NBME IM subject examination pass/fail standards and the NBOME COMAT scores. This adjustment further enhances the SEL’s inclusiveness and does not affect the essence or components of the IM SEL.
