ACGME Resident & Faculty Survey Resources (Updated for 2024!)

Program directors in prior APDIM surveys have identified stress and pressure related to the annual ACGME Resident and Faculty Survey. The stress is attributed to the implications of the survey for accreditation, vague and confusing language for trainees, and the pressure to make changes in their program to improve the survey. The ACGME survey period for 2024 is from February 12 to April 7 (8 weeks) with content that reflects the revised common program requirements.

APDIM is pleased to share answers to the program directors frequently asked questions to help address these important concerns. Similar to last year, APDIM has provided 2 customizable slidesets, "Toolkit to Better Understand the ACGME Resident Survey" and the "Toolkit to Better Understand the ACGME Faculty Survey" in which residency leaders can use to communicate with residents/fellows and core faculty, respectively, to help them better understand the specific language, requirements, and intent of the ACGME Survey.  Each slideset has speaker notes for presenters to use at their discretion. Both toolkits have been vetted by RC-IM for accuracy.  Both toolkits can be downloaded and modified for use in your training program with your residents/fellows and your faculty. The FAQs contain a side-by-side table comparing content from the Faculty survey and the Resident survey.
